The videos will be released weekly on Monday morning over the next nine weeks. I hope that by the end of the series the interested viewer will have a reasonably good overview of the Austrian School on the logic of human choice and action, the nature of the market process, competition, entrepreneurship and the profit and loss system, including the crucial role of economic calculation for rational decisions in the market economy, the importance of savings, investment and capital formation, the Austrian theory of money and the business cycle, and why socialism and the interventionist-welfare states are defective substitutes for a functioning, open free market.
Simultaneously with the video series, the Future of Freedom Foundation has sponsored the publication of a new eBook by me on, “Austrian Economics and Public Policy: Restoring Freedom and Prosperity,” which is available from Amazon for $4.99

Comprising 40 chapters, they cover the men and ideas of the Austrian School from Carl Menger through Ludwig von Mises, F. A. Hayek and Israel Kirzner. And then in a series of chapters the ideas of the Austrians are applied to a wide variety of policy issues. Together, I believe the chapters offer a good insight into the “Austrian” approach and its relevance for understanding many of the economic issues of the day.
