O declínio do Ocidente - a lição de Solzhenitsyn

“My friend Peter Wingate reminded me of the commencement address Solzhenitsyn gave at Harvard in 1978. That speech is what turned the Western elite progressive intelligentsia against him. He was a "literary genius" prior to that speech, yet he was rapidly relegated to virtual anonymity after that speech. The "enlightened" collectivists (supposed "progressives") of Western Europe and the U.S. were happy to usher him off the public stage. Like black conservatives, Solzhenitsyn had become a threat to their paradigm.”
