Democídio

Military deaths during war in the 20th Century total around 35 million human beings. These were soldiers.
Approximately 40 million people were "collateral civilian deaths" in the 20th Century, meaning people who were not soldiers, yet, were killed by soldiers of enemy governments during war.
200 million people, or more, were killed by their own governments in mass murders unconnected to war, and government-caused famines, that social scientists call "democide."
That's a total of approximately 275,000,000 human beings slaughtered, in the 20th Century alone, all because some wanted to use the power of government to control others and confiscate their property, and all in the name of engineering a better society through central planning.
