"Intentional communities"

Já pensou em fundar ou virar membro de uma comunidade intencional? Uma oportunidade "grassroots" de se oferecer governança contratual a uma comunidade.

See the map? Every single one of these markers is an intentional community.
For those who are not familiar with the term, an intentional community is a "A group of people who live together or share common facilities and who regularly associate with each other on the basis of explicit common values."
This includes ecovillages, communes, cooperatives, religious communities, cohousing and more.
The map is from the Foundation for Intentional Community, an organization focused on supporting these communities.
In addition to having a global map of hundreds of intentional communities worldwide, they also provide loads of learning material for you who want to found your own intentional community, including several free e-books, which you can download here:
The Startup Societies Foundation recently made a podcast episode with Sky Blue, the foundation's executive director. Here's a nice bit from it, explaining their vision:
"We are not separate from society. We are part of society; We are laboratories, training grounds, microcosms of larger society. And what we are doing together, to try to figure out how to work out decision-making around shared resources and doing it in a way without engaging in violent conflict, this is kind of what humanity as a whole needs to figure out."
Certainly an inspiring vision: Improving governance from the bottom-up, one community at a time.
