 Interesting paper: "The most influential justification of individual property rights is the Propertarian Argument. It is the idea that the institution of private property renders everyone better off, and crucially, even the worst-off members of society. A recent critique of the Argument is that it relies on an anthropologically false hypothesis – the idea, following Thomas Hobbes, that life in the state of nature is one of widespread scarcity and violence to which property rights are a solution. The present article seeks to reformulate this Anthropological Objection in a way that more directly addresses Hobbes’ original argument. It then shows that private property is justified to the extent that it allows anyone to reclaim their free time."

 COMO PORTUGAL COMPROU O NORDESTE BRASILEIRO...

Há exatos 361 anos, mais precisamente em 6 de Agosto de 1661, ocorria a assinatura do Tratado de Haia por Portugal e pela República dos Países Baixos, também conhecido como a Paz de Haia. Com isso, os territórios que haviam sido conquistados pela Holanda no Nordeste do Brasil, na época renomeados como "Nova Holanda", foram formalmente devolvidos a Portugal em troca de uma indenização de oito milhões de florins, o equivalente a 63 toneladas de ouro. Além disso, Portugal cedeu o Ceilão (atual Sri Lanka) e, em troca, a República Holandesa reconheceu a soberania portuguesa sobre o Brasil e a Angola.

The Berlin Conference of 1884–1885, also known as the Congo Conference or West Africa Conference, regulated European colonisation and trade in Africa during the New Imperialism period and coincided with Germany's sudden emergence as an imperial power.

•Portugal–Britain:

The Portuguese government presented a project, known as the "Pink Map", or the "Rose-Coloured Map", in which the colonies of Angola and Mozambique were united by co-option of the intervening territory (the land later became Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Malawi). All of the countries attending the conference, except for Britain, endorsed Portugal's ambitions, and just over five years later, in 1890, the British government issued an ultimatum that demanded for the Portuguese withdraw from the disputed area.
