A Fazendo do bichos em reves
"In a totalitarian state, there's a chasm between daily life and the media. Daily life is awful, but the media trumpets the glory of the status quo.
The West now has a comparable chasm between daily life and the media, but it goes in the opposite direction. Daily life is wonderful: Unless you actively hunt for outliers, you're surrounded by well-fed, healthy, safe, comfortable people enjoying a cornucopia of amusement. The media, however, uses the vastness of the world to show us non-stop terror, hate, fear, brutality, and poverty - not just in the Third World, but right here at home. "

10 Unravelled Secrets Of The Mayan Civilization
The Maya are perhaps one of the world’s most successful and brilliant civilizations. Thanks to the hard work of dedicated researchers and archaeologists, many secrets of this once-powerful civilization are now starting to unravel. 10 Recipe For Maya Blue The Maya considered a certain shade of blue to be a highly significant color. Known as Maya Blue, this color was used to cover pots, palace walls, and codices. In addition, it was also used to cover the bodies of human sacrifices. Though scientists knew the two main ingredients of Maya Blue were indigo and palygorskite, they were at loss as to what the mysterious third ingredient was. In 2008, US researchers published a study claiming that copal ...

O processo do colapso de sociedades
This is what it looks like when society collapses
Rafi Letzter,Business Insider UK
Before society collapses, it slows down. That's the conclusion of a study published on Monday in the journal PNAS. A team of researchers examined the archaeological record that Neolithic European — that is, between 3,000 and 10,000 years — societies left in the years before several different collapses. They found that "critical slowing down" is a reliable early warning signal of a society on the edge of going bust. A society that can't bounce back from a bad winter, a war, or a crop failure, for instance, faces such a slow down. Sean Downey, a University of Maryland anthropologist and a researcher on the study, said that to understand what it means for a society to slow down, you should imagine ...

9-part video series on “An Introduction to Austrian Economics,” sponsored by Future of Freedom Foundation, with the firs...t part on, “Who are the Austrian Economists, and Why are They Important,” now available online.
http://www.fff.org/…/introduction-austrian-economics-part-1/
The videos will be released weekly on Monday morning over the next nine weeks. I hope that by the end of the series the interested viewer will have a reasonably good overview of the Austrian School on the logic of human choice and action, the nature of the market process, competition, entrepreneurship and the profit and loss system, including the crucial role of economic calculation for rational decisions in the market economy, the importance of savings, investment and capital formation, the Austrian theory of money and the business cycle, and why socialism and the interventionist-welfare states are defective substitutes for a functioning, open free market.
Simultaneously with the video series, the Future of Freedom Foundation has sponsored the publication of a new eBook by me on, “Austrian Economics and Public Policy: Restoring Freedom and Prosperity,” which is available from Amazon for $4.99
https://www.amazon.com/Austrian-Economics-Pub…/…/ref=sr_1_1…
Comprising 40 chapters, they cover the men and ideas of the Austrian School from Carl Menger through Ludwig von Mises, F. A. Hayek and Israel Kirzner. And then in a series of chapters the ideas of the Austrians are applied to a wide variety of policy issues. Together, I believe the chapters offer a good insight into the “Austrian” approach and its relevance for understanding many of the economic issues of the day.
