O mitos nórdicos

Leftists enjoy citing Scandinavian countries as examples of socialism “working” due to their high levels of economic prosperity and overall standard of living. In reality, many of these countries not only have many market features, but they also became rich through laissez-faire policies during the late 19th century up until the 1930s.
Please read my review of Nima Sanandaji's Scandinavian Unexceptionalism to learn more about the myths regarding Scandinavia’s economic development and the problems it faces now.
The capital stock built in the 19th century allowed countries like Sweden to finance generous welfare states. Socialist sympathizers overlook this point and put the cart before the horse.
