America Has The World's Second Largest Social Welfare State

This isn’t what we’re used to being told: the usual story is that the poor in America are left with pitiful scraps as the capitalist plutocrats lord it over them. Unlike, say, the social democracies of Europe where the spigots of social justice money and redistribution run unchecked day and night. And the truth really just isn’t quite like that. For the United States has a social welfare system that is not small by comparison with the size of the economy. And when looked at in total, per capita it’s the second largest such social welfare state in the world. So, it’s entirely fair to say that the American social welfare system is the second largest in the world.
