Erich Kuehnelt-Leddihn

MP3 lecture] One of the most brilliant and erudite men of 20th century Europe, Kuehnelt-Leddihn, lectures here on the lives and ideas of his close friends Mises and Hayek and the old Europe from which they all came. He recounts the prewar climate, life under fascism in italy, the advent of world war 1, the rise of National Socialism, the inevitable unfolding of world war 2, etc. Leddihn was 97 when this recording was made. Still sharp as a tack, and a "walking encyclopedia" as he was called by his friends. Buckley referred to him the "worlds most interesting man". He lectured internationally in half a dozen languages, spoke fluently twice that number, and read still twice that number .
Presented as part of the Austrian Workshop seminar series. Recorded on 17 November 1997.
