Progressives often seem to propose policies that engender cyclical patterns. Mentioning anything about the ineffectiveness of such policies, or clarifying the damaging tendencies they are causing only gets you categorized as part of the problem. This technique is quite distinct from the productive procedures at the heart of the scientific enterprise, broadly understood.
